Harry Leslie Smith:
Harry Leslie Smith is a survivor of the Great Depression, a second world war RAF veteran and, at 92, an activist for the poor and for the preservation of social democracy. Harry Leslie Smith's articles have appeared in The Guardian, Daily Mirror News Statesman, Morning Star as well as many other periodicals. His Guardian essays have been shared over 90,000 times on Facebook and have attracted huge comment and debate. He has authored numerous books about Britain during the Great Depression, the second world war and postwar austerity. Currently he is writing a book for Little Brown about how Britain and the Western World can fight back against austerity and reclaim their right to a civil society. He lives in Yorkshire and outside Toronto, Canada.
